Self-striping Mitered Madness

This is what Auntie has been up to.  Her cast cover led straight to the mitered path of addictive knitting--perfect for her recovery. 

Self striping yarn seems ideally suited for miters, as the Mason Dixon chics have noted.   Hand dyed self-striping yarns are simply amazing. 

For anyone interested in making their own self-striping goodness, all you need is kool-aid and 100% wool yarn, any weight and brand.  Superwash wool is fine.    Auntie made a board and wrote about it here  and has many, many pictures of her process and yarns here

Auntie coordinates the knitting . . .

So, every night before Auntie goes to bed, she decides what knitting she will take  tomorrow, what supplies she needs, if she will need a back-up project or if she needs to do any quick prep work (such as casting on).   Auntie supposes this isn't THAT crazy.   

However, consider this: 

Auntie seldom remembers to plan her snacks and lunch.

Auntie cannot be bothered with nightly showers (which makes for a morning rush).

Auntie saves the question of clothing for the morning "sniff test"

Auntie has been known to leave her lectures in her printer tray

Auntie often leaves her netflix mailers languishing on the TV

Auntie eschews anything that smacks of this "routine" thing Flylady raves about

YET, the knitting must be planned.  Always.  When in doubt, multiple projects must accompany her.   This begs the question---if this is Auntie a year into her fiber obsession, will she become the crazy lady with the wheeled suitcase of projects in a few years????
